Frequently asked questions
ALL QUESTIONS
- 01How do I place an order? All orders can be placed directly through our website. Select your items, choose your pick-up or delivery date, and proceed to our secure checkout. Can I pay cash if I place an online order? No. Cash is not accepted unless in exceptional circumstances. How much notice do I need to give for an order? You can only select available dates from the calendar provided on our website. Cut-off to place an order for the same week is Sunday at 5 PM. For example, if you wish to place an order for Thursday, April 23rd, Friday, April 24th, or Saturday, April 25th, you have until Sunday, April 19th, 5 PM to do so. If we miss the 5 PM cut-off time, can you still make an exception? Generally, we cannot, but if we can, we will try our best to make you happy. We encourage clients to be organized and avoid asking us to place their order outside normal hours. How much notice do I need to give for a special order that is not on the menu? For specialty cakes, we require a one-week advance notice. For large catering or corporate orders, we require a 2-week advance notice. Can I modify or cancel my order? You may modify or cancel your order as long as it is before Sunday, 5 PM, prior to your original delivery/pick-up order date. For example, if you ordered a Thursday, April 23 order and wish to modify or cancel, you can only do so by emailing us anytime before Sunday, April 19, 5 PM. Remember, once this period ends, the production process has begun, and we cannot offer changes or refunds. If I have to cancel an order past the 5 PM deadline on Sunday, will I get a refund or a credit? We understand that life happens, including emergencies, but we are not able to refund you after this deadline because the production process has begun. Your order will be disposed of.
- 02Do you offer delivery? Yes! We offer local delivery for addresses located within a 20km radius of our bakery. Delivery fees are calculated at checkout based on your exact distance from us. What are the delivery requirements? It is your responsibility to ensure that someone is available at the delivery address during your selected time slot. Our products are delivered fresh and perishable, and cannot be left unattended outdoors. If nobody is available to pick up the order, it will be left at the door, but the bakery is not responsible for what happens to the product. We will not issue a refund for an order that has been damaged or stolen if no one was home to pick it up. What is your exchange and refund policy? As our products are perishable food items, we do not accept returns. However, if you are unsatisfied with the quality of your purchase or if there was an error with your order, please contact us within 24 hours with your receipt and a photo of the product. We will do our best to make it right with an exchange or store credit.
- 03How should I store my bread and pastries? For Sourdough Breads: Best kept in a box that is air-tight at room temperature up to 5 days. You can freeze them in a plastic bag, up to 3 months. If you do, you can thaw the bread without the plastic the night before, on the counter. You can also splash cold water on the frozen sourdough loaf and reheat for 30 minutes in the oven at 400F. This will revive the crust of your sourdough. We do not recommend this water revival technique for less crusty sourdough breads like the Dark Rye &Whole Wheat, but only for the crusty sourdough breads (for instance, Baguettes, Grand White, Country). For Croissants, Sourdough & Other Pastries: o Viennoiseries (Croissants): Best enjoyed the day of purchase. If saving for the next day, reheat briefly in a 350°F (180°C) oven for 3–5 minutes. They can be frozen. If you freeze, bake them from frozen at 375F for 3-5 minutes. The ingredients we use in our croissants are so high-quality that they stay absolutely delicious with this method. o Sourdough Pastries: Sourdough Cinnamon rolls, Sourdough Babkas, Sourdough Muffins, etc., must be kept in an airtight box at room temperature. They can also be frozen. o Biscotti: Stay fresh in their bag for up to 1 month. o French Cakes: Always keep in their original packaging on the counter for up to 4 days from your pickup/delivery order date. Never refrigerate, or it will dry out. They can be frozen. Do you offer gluten-free or nut-free options? We do not offer gluten-free options at the present time. If you are celiac, our products are not suitable for you. If you are gluten intolerant (like the Chef), you may enjoy our long-fermented sourdough products because they are healthier for your microbiome and easier to digest than regular yeasted bread. As for the nut-free options, please know that we cannot guarantee a 100% allergen-free environment due to the risk of cross-contamination. Our products are made in a facility that uses nuts, almonds, gluten, dairy, and eggs. Do you offer vegan options? Yes. All of our sourdough breads and sourdough fresh pizza dough are vegan. The only sourdough breads that are not vegan are those with cheddar. The croissants and other sourdough pastries are not vegan because they contain butter.
- 04Do you provide catering for corporate events or weddings? Yes! We love being part of your special moments. Please contact us via our email for a custom quote on large-scale orders.
